Roads includes documents on the condition of roads in Somerset in the late 18th century, the dangers of coach travel in the 1820's, material on turnpike roads (click for example), posters for carriers, and coach and omnibus proprietors

Canals and Waterways includes a map of the Somerset canal system, a prospectus for the proposed Glastonbury-Highbridge canal 1834, a bargees' advertisement, letters on the competition between river and canal transport 1830 and a complaint on the condition of the Bridgwater-Taunton canal in 1874

Railways includes a map of the Somerset rail network, advertisements for rail excursions, a prospectus for the Chard railway, an account of a train journey in 1855 and a picture and report on the opening celebrations of the Somerset Central railway at Glastonbury

Shipping includes extracts from Minehead harbour accounts, an account of a trip on a steamship 1826, a prospectus for Brean harbour and photographs of Bridgwater and Watchet docks
