 LISTEN TO AUDIO CLIPS

An audio clip has been selected from each recording, lasting approximately 2 minutes.  They have been chosen to give a flavour of the rich variety of voices in the archive and complement the longer extracts on the CD which accompanies 'Reflections'. They must be downloaded in order to listen to them.  This page provides instructions about how to do this.

The clips can be accessed in three different ways:

  • Via a thematic index
  • Via the biographical introduction to each person
  • Via the summary of the track that the clip comes from (These are accessed from the individual CD summary pages)

The clips are available in two formats, wma  and mp3.  The sound is of the same quality in each download.  Two different formats have been provided to make the recordings as widely available as possible.

WMA: This is a straightforward option for Windows users, as most modern Windows packages come with Windows Media Player already installed.  If you need to download the player, or would like further information about the software click here.

MP3: The mp3 files are smaller in size and will download more quickly.  This is a widely used format and most modern media players will accept it.  It is compatible with Apple Mac and Linux systems.  It is not necessary to download any new software to access these recordings.  [Back to top]
